Tools in Your Shop: Professional Rotary Carving Tool
Im a little slow but i didnt get the total size of cleat or the 1 1/8 part
Good Video/Info.
Can you give the title of the book or something I'd like to get a copy or a similar version
Thank you Sir 🎉
Gyp
But is it not quicker cut the joint by cutting it by hand? I saw him in action cutting dove tails😮
What a knowledgeable fella. The guys got the experience, you can really tell.
Thanks for this useful information.
Thank you for the information. From what you’re saying, perhaps liquor would work since it is high octane ethanol? Having said that, I would hate to waste good bourbon on getting rid of a stain.😂
Impressive. Wow.
Simples.🤓
seems like the way to go, thx.
This is the simplest and best video on French cleat .👍
Like most things, it's obvious once you know it. However, I did not know it. Thanks for the lesson!
This isn't about choosing the right dust collector, its justifying why the Oneida is a good one since it serves the purpose of what many people need two machines for, but the title is misleading.
Sounds like a perfectly fine accent. The amount of awesome tools in the background is amazing, though.
Thank you
I wonder how much Logan has to pay someone to be the boss there? I mean, he's having too much fun to consider that he is "working"... For the record, I'm willing to pay a buck 10-80 to take Logan's place when he retires(but do it soon, Logan. I'm 69.😂
You have no idea how much fun I have. 🤣
What magazine issue is the wall shelf in the background from? I enjoyed the tool talk and am now curious about the diamond cutoff. Digging in my tools to find mine. Thank you.
You mentioned the basic set of High Speed Steel tools (HSS). You didn't mention carbide tools. I'm not a fan of carbide tools but they do have their place.🙂🙂
The red-headed step child that we don't speak of!
Great intro to turning tools.
There are more than three Robertson (square) bits, but three will cover everything most people need. McFeely's used to be almost entirely Robertson screws, then for awhile dropped most of them. Now, they seem to have a mix of drive types. Years ago, I bought concrete screws with Robertson drive from them. It works well in that high-torque application.
Logan? Making a turning video? Who knew? 😂
Been looking for a straight forward explanation for these. And was looking for the proper names of these types if lines
I agree it looks sloppy, but I wonder if it was planned. I wasnt' there, but I can imagine Roy Underhill suggesting that he give it a try. Frank sounded a little annoyed to me. He probably rushed through it to get it over with.
I have a Delta 36-725 table saw. The blade was wobbling every time. I replaced the blades several times and still the same wobbling. What do you think is the problem? Do you think I have to replace the complete arbor with the bearings or the replacement of the bearing only? Thank you.
Has your wife caught you microwaving bowls and if so, what was her response? Does the wood leave a smell after "cooking" which could lead to accusations of misusing kitchen equipment?
Best simple explanation I've ever seen. Thank you. Ive made knives since i was a kid and im 40 now. Now i can show people in the auto shop i work in and maybe theyll understand why my chisels stay sharper than theirs. Lol
Well done ... properly explained and showed good technique. I don't want to be that guy, but where was your face shield!!!
That was super interesting logan. Great job
Good demo Logan. Very good commentary. Nice result. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
I am going to ask my carpenter to do this for me in my new studio! SO neat! Thank you for a brilliant video and such clear instructions!
Thank you Glen great video
I was expecting to see some results. Maybe a razorblade sharpened with a dimond plate
Thank you Sir.🎉
Why are you not my grandfather....
It goes in the square hole
Oh goodness, I don't have all of these fancy tools 😂
You don't need fancy, and you can always find a friend that will cut your board for you.
Alternatively, to remove, you can use some old, worn tin snips or metal shears to cut the loose half of the disc off, then rotate the disc 180º degrees and remove the rest. VM&P Naphtha also cuts many adhesives. FLAMMABLE! Outside or use a fan nearby.
I went to the ArborTech site and watch their demo video of the Turbo Plane. ArborTech video carved out dished areas by cutting slightly lifted form the horizontal and at a 20-45 degree angle with very smooth results.Take a look
that's not true at all, if the planer had a pressure bar there would be no snipe
Would this work on veneer?
I watched your old DVD's that were put on RUclips I would think it would be awesome if you started a RUclips channel
This video helped me greatly. Each to their own what you want to do to protect yourself, but MDF dust is some of the worst for inhaling
I just turned 80 years old and am taking a stab at veneer inlay. Outstanding video and explanation! Where can I buy the tape you used in the video.I did several searches and came up empty. Thanks,,, Tom
Knowing this makes it easier to understand what the joiner and planer machines are trying to do. Thank you!
So, I finally fell into peer pressure and go'ogled Woody Hyezmar’s Bible. Yes, you can get his projects at no cost, although admittedly they're not up there with the best, there are a few golden nuggets you can have fun with.
OMG! Has it really come to the level of having to give long dragged out analogies in explaining the bit rotation direction in lieu of a simple clock direction??? Or has that digital clock thing got them confused again? Bit Rotation = Bit down clockwise ... bit up counter clockwise.
Take the wheel off. it's only one nut
Nice. Hey why not just round the back corners to set into rabbet corner curves - rather than chisel out the corners?
